Grade 1 days and Snowdonia Classics

Who is this for?

​​​This is ideal for ​those who might have done a little hillwalking and want a guided day on classic routes or have some hill walking experience and want some to maximise their time in Snowdonia by having expert choose the best routes dependent on the weather. 

What does the course cover?

There are so many great classic lines in Snowdonia, some of the routes include:

​

• Bochclwyd Horseshoe (The North Ridge of Tryfan, Bristly Ridge and The Gribin)

• Snowdon Horshoe (Crib Goch and traverse of Lliwedd)

• Crib Goch and Crib Y Ddysgl

• Little & North Gullies on Tryfan

• Crib Lem Spur

• Y Gribin and traverse of Lliwedd

• Nantlle Ridge

All days are tailored to your interests and objectives.​

Equipment

No equipment is required other than standard appropriate clothing for an active day in the mountains depending on the weather.

A standard summer mountain might include:

​

30-40L backpack

Waterproof coat

Waterproof trousers

Headtorch, on sunrise or sunset events

Hat and gloves

A spare warm layer

Personal care kit, blister plasters, sanitary supplies, suncream etc.

Sunglasses

Litre of water (minimum)

Lunch​

• Do I need climbing shoes? All routes can be done in boots or approach shoes, climbing shoes are not required.

• Do I need to be really fit? One of the wonderful things about Snowdonia is it's compactness, so much is available in a relatively short distance.

• What if it's raining? Careful thought and planning is made for route choice in damper weather, there are always quality routes to be had somewhere.
